Behalf of 27th Alcohol de- addiction camp on December 16th 2019 staff of hospital organized awareness programme by conducting street play in different places of udupi district.
On January 1st 2020, 27th Alcohol De-addiction camp was inaugurated by Shri. Jagadeesh, District commissioner of udupi by lightning the lamp in his speech he mentioned how it will economically burden to family and country. During this occasion we are honored those who are completed 5 years abstinence of alcohol consumption.
In this camp total 49 inmates were took part in our of 40 inmates 3 are female for them arranged accommodation in female ward.. In 49 inmates 7 inmates had delirium, 3 had alcohol withdrawal seizure , 15 inmates had other psychological co-morbidity .
Every day routines has started from 2/1/2020. To maintain physical and mental fitness yoga was organized at 7 am. After yoga , followed by individual counseling, Doctor examination and suggestions and psycho educative class were on ill effects of alcohol, relapse prevention, how to handle crewing, anger management behavioural addiction issues were addressed during psycho educative class. After the lunch counselor use to conduct group activity for inmates. From 4pm to 5pm cultural programmes were conducted by different college students. Every day A.A. meetings was conducted for the camp inmates to motivate to maintain sobriety.
on 10/1/2020 camp valedictory function was held Mr. Bhaskar V.B. Dy. Superintendent of police, Lokayuktha udupi, Mr. Devadas Hebbar, past president, Akila Karnataka janajagruthi vedike, Belthangady, Dr. Prakash Bhat, secretary, Indian medical association Udupi- karwali.Mr. Yogish Shet, social activist, Mr. Siraj ahammed , trustee Haji Abdulla charitable trust, Udupi, Mr. Ravindra Hegade, Properitor of Jayalaxmi silks udupi were the chief guest of the function. Dr. P.V. Bhandary, Director , Dr. A.V. Baliga Memorial Hospital , presided over the function.
