ABOUT US
Dr. A. V. Baliga Memorial Hospital at Doddanagudde, Udupi, was founded in the year 2003 as a general hospital with both inpatient and outpatient facilities. The hospital specializes mainly in Psychiatry in addition to General Medicine, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology and Dental Surgery.
Social Welfare
Hospital has also started social welfare schemes with a motto of providing good facilities for economically backward classes and serving the society to the best of capabilities. We have an obligation to fight the negative effects of alcohol addiction, tobacco, smoking and drug abuse. We are also dedicated towards increasing awareness about mental health and psychological problems like Depression and Suicidal Tendencies, brought upon by present-day stressful lifestyles.
Considering the scarcity of Mental Health Professionals, we have extended our community health services to Dr. A. V. Baliga Satellite Clinic at Honnavar on every month 2nd Saturday, weekly once ( Wednesday) at karkala, First Saturday of each month at Hiriyadaka and perdoor, and Every Thursday at Harady, Brahmavar. This is a step towards taking Healthcare to people who can barely afford to come looking for it. Also in the vicinity of the hospital is the Kamal Baliga Rural medical centre. This institution too is dedicated towards provision of medical benefits, primarily to people living in rural areas.
